AC Energy Retail is IMI’s electricity provider
February 28, 2017 — AC Energy Retail, the retail electricity supply unit of AC Energy, has signed a retail electricity supply agreement with its first customer, Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc. (IMI).
AC Energy Retail will not only supply reliable electricity to support the power requirement of the entire IMI facility in Laguna, but will also provide customized energy solutions that will help IMI lower its operational costs. This partnership highlights significant synergies between the two Ayala companies.
IMI is the global manufacturing arm of AC Industrials. Apart from being an electronics manufacturing services company, IMI also houses the production, assembly and operations of KTM motorcycles for local distribution and for export to China.
In September 2016, the Energy Regulatory Commission granted license to AC Energy to engage in Retail Electricity Supply (RES). AC Energy has committed itself to become a key player in the RES market by offering innovative products to end-users in the contestable market (Contestable Customers). Contestable Customers are enterprises with high energy consumption that now have the opportunity to take control of their electricity bills and choose energy suppliers that provide the lowest rates and best customer service.
